NSCF Environmental Fund
Support us with a tax-deductible donation and help us to continue improving the green oasis in the city that is Northey Street City Farm.
What we would like to have
We have a few environmental projects that we need funds for that sit outside our normal operations. These projects will improve the bush regeneration along Breakfast Creek, create a nature play area, allow us to employ bushcraft specialists and First Nations Elders for our Earth Kids Holiday Program and allow us to build some roofs for shade and shelter.
Here’s what we’re doing about it
We believe our projects funded by donations to our environement fund will improve the enivorment around the farm, will improve the services to the children accessing the farm and provide infrastructure that will benefit the whole community for years to come.
You can join us
We believe $30 000 will allow us to fulfil these important environmental projects at the farm.
And here’s some amazing perks for supporting us that you can’t live without
All donations over $2 to Northey Street City Farm’s Environment Fund are tax-deductible. The Environment Fund is set aside for activities which enhance the environment and is separate from our operating costs. Every dollar donated will be used to Care for the Earth, Care for People and inspire Learning.

Intro to Forest Gardening with Dick Copeman & Michael Wardle
Thursday 18th of May – Sunday 21st of May.
This four-day advanced design workshop will present recent contributions from permaculturists practising in a range of climatic regions to the science and art of designing productive forest gardens. After reviewing relevant ecological concepts, the workshop will then focus on design processes and tools that adapt and apply these concepts to forest garden design for the humid subtropics. Participants will have access to information about a wide range of edible and useful subtropical trees and plants and will visit established forest gardens to appraise how well they illustrate the design concepts that are discussed.
This workshop will allow PDC certificate holders to gain deeper understanding of how to design sustainable forest gardens. It will also extend the repertoire of advanced permaculture training available at Northey Street City Farm.
Course pre-requisite: Permaculture Design Certificate
Teachers: Dick Copeman & Michael Wardle
Date: 18th to 21st May (4 days)
Times: 8:30 am – 17:00pm
Cost: $500 General/ $400 Healthcare card holders + Booking fee
