Nursery Plants

Visit City Farm Nursery to explore our range and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of our urban oasis in the heart of the city.

We pride ourselves on being able to provide you with a wide range of quality plants, seeds, herbs, veggies, natives, bush tucker, fruit trees, indoor plants, and soil and mulch. The Nursery plant varieties are selected for their suitability to our subtropical climate and to help you achieve the best success, are in stock during their growing season.

If you’re looking for a specific plant species, please contact the Nursery to check if it’s in stock: nursery@nscf.org.au. We are a not-for-profit community Nursery and our staff work part-time, please allow 2-3 days for a response.

Seasonal Availability: Nursery plants listed are seasonally available – some are available throughout the year and others only in certain seasons. Please contact us to know whether the plant you are looking for is available.

Brisbane City Council Free Native Plant Program

City Farm Nursery participates in the Brisbane City Council Free Native Plant Program. Full details of the BCC Free Native Plants Program are here.

Brisbane residents can present your rates notice at a Brisbane City Council library, pick up a free native plants voucher and bring it to City Farm Nursery to collect two free native plants each financial year.

If you rent a house, unit or townhouse, you can take written approval to the library to pick up a voucher and bring it to City Farm Nursery to collect two free plants on behalf of the property owner.

Your written approval needs to include; the full property address, rate account number, the owner’s name/s & signed/ dated authorisation for the current financial year.

Please note City Farm Nursery is part of a community organisation (Northey Street City Farm) and not part of Brisbane City Council, so we can’t approve BCC rates – you need to take your rates or approval letter to a BCC library for a voucher and bring the voucher to the Nursery.

BCC changes the species each month to support biodiversity. The list below includes the genus of plants that are intermittently available at various times throughout the year. Please visit City Farm Nursery to see the current species available and select your plants.
Native plants in the BCC program are also available for purchase and don’t require a voucher.
