Permaculture Education

Northey Street City Farm’s Education Program offers a wide range of opportunities for learning, teaching and participation.  Our educational activities are closely linked with the wider work of the Farm and our Purpose which is to be an inspirational working model of a community-based urban permaculture farm which promotes and educates for sustainability.

Our Permaculture education program centers on the 14-day Permaculture Design Course. We also offer short courses including Introduction to Permaculture and Permaculture Basics courses.

In addition to our Permaculture Courses, we offer a diverse range of interesting and interactive Workshops and Short Courses, often on Saturdays.  These half or full-day workshops teach people how to live more sustainably in the city. Spaces fill up fast for these popular, informative and fun workshops. Please book early to avoid disappointment.

And through our Youth Education Program we run regular professional development workshops for teachers.

We offer guided Group Tours of our demonstration site for community groups, gardening clubs, business and government groups and all other interested groups. Guided group tours take around an hour and a half and can be adapted to cater to your special interests. The tour is hosted by one of our experienced Education Team.
