Spring Harvest Long Table Lunch Fundraiser 2025

Join us for our Spring Harvest Long Table Lunch fundraiser on Saturday, 25 October 2025, starting at 1 p.m.

We invite our guests to reconnect with community, food, and the land that sustains us.

The Spring Harvest Long Table Lunch is a fundraiser event for Northey Street City Farm. Proceeds from the event will support our ongoing programs in permaculture education and environmental and social sustainability. For over 30 years, we’ve been a hub for sustainability, education, and community connection. By attending, you are directly helping us continue this work.

This year we’ve also introduced a tiered-ticket system, giving guests the opportunity to donate to one of our collaborators — Yuruwan or the Youth Retreat Centre, amplifying the impact of this gathering even further.

*Tickets to this event are limited and close on Friday, 10 October. A second round of tickets could be released through 23 October, if seats remain available.

About the Spring Harvest Long Table Lunch

The Long Table Lunch will unfold as a generous three-course shared feast — a collaboration between Three Little Birds and Bando Smoke BBQ, led by Michelin-trained chefs Chris Jordan and Lee Sibanda. Expect coal-fired meats and vegetables, bright Caribbean jerk spices, local produce from our incredible farmer’s market community and native ingredients grown right on city farm soil.

Farm Tour:
Begin the afternoon with a guided wander through Northey Street City Farm’s kitchen gardens and native food forests. Here, regenerative practices and permaculture ethics are not just ideas but living, breathing systems that sustain resilience and abundance. Along the way, guests will touch, taste, and smell native ingredients growing at The Farm – an introduction to the flavours soon to be transformed over fire.

Garden Bar & Canapés:
Your tour ends at the Garden Bar, where a roaming entree will be served alongside welcome drinks. Sip, savour, and settle into the rhythm of the afternoon before we come together at the long table.

Long Table Lunch:
At the heart of the day is the long lunch itself – guests will be seated at long tables on our Village Green for a feast centered around native flavours, fire, and shared stories. The menu a special collaboration between Michelin-trained chefs Lee Sibanda and Chris Jordan. Chef Chris will share stories of First Nations connection to native ingredients and the landscapes that hold them.

A Celebration of Community

As the afternoon unfolds, you’ll hear from inspiring voices including Dominique Chen of Yuruwan, sharing how grassroots, urban-based First Nations food and medicine growing is being nurtured and protected. You’ll also learn about the work of the Youth Retreat Centre, whose programs reconnect young people in the Youth Justice System with culture, purpose, and community through food and collaboration.

Together, we’ll lift our glasses to community — to the abundance that emerges when we nurture connection, honour Country, and care for the land that sustains us.
