Earth Kids Holiday Program

Northey Street City Farm is a 2.5-hectare, vibrant space where children can explore, play, and engage with native and exotic plants, animals, and permaculture. Each Earth Kids Holiday program is packed with games, seasonal farm adventures, and activities that help children discover how all the living and non-living elements of this place are connected.

The Holiday program offers:
– Time outdoors to support wellbeing and curiosity
– Hands-on activities that spark creativity, empathy, and leadership
– Opportunities to build social and emotional skills through play
– A space for building friendships and a sense of community
– Partial scholarships for First Nations families
– Discounted children’s tickets for parent volunteers

We also offer a Homeschool Program. Learn more about our Earth Kids Homeschool program here.

Frequently Asked Questions

“My children can attend only one day of the holiday program. Is it possible to purchase tickets for only one day?”

We currently don’t offer single-day bookings for the Earth Kids Holiday Program. The program is designed as a 3-day experience, with each day building on the previous one to create a fun and engaging nature journey for the children.

Please don’t do that. While we love welcoming new families to our Earth Kids community, we’re unfortunately unable to accept children who haven’t booked in advance. Due to the nature of the program and working with children, our team carefully prepares before each program to ensure a safe, enjoyable, and well-supported experience for all participants, including our educators.

We don’t offer trials for our Earth Kids Holiday programs, only for the Homeschool program. If you have any questions or would like to find out more to see if it’s a good fit for your family, please contact our Youth Education Coordinator at youthedn@nscf.org.au. We’ll be happy to provide as much information as possible to help you make an informed decision.

Please visit the event page on Humanitix and select the First Nations ticket. If you need any assistance, please contact us at youthedn@nscf.org.au

To make our programs as accessible as possible, we offer early bird prices and low-income fees. Health Care Card holders are welcome to choose the low-income ticket rate available for most of our Earth Kids programs.

The Earth Arts Playgroup is a free play, child-led activity, ideal for children under 5, though it’s something people of all ages, including adults, can enjoy. Find more information about the Earth Arts Playgroup here.

Earth Kids is a structured paid program, for children aged 6-12, that supports children in their nature-reconnection journey. Permaculture-informed, the program offers opportunities to learn about local flora and fauna, develop empathy and leadership, and build social skills, friendships, and community. More information on our webpages: Earth Kids Homeschool and Earth Kids Holiday

We’re unable to offer refunds for missed days once the program has commenced.

Tickets are non-transferable and can only be used by the registered child. This helps our team plan ahead and make sure every child has a safe, fun, and well-supported experience.

The Earth Kids program is designed for children aged 6–12, and we occasionally welcome 5-year-olds who are attending with an older sibling or close friend and are able to follow instructions easily. If this applies to your child, please get in touch with us at youthedn@nscf.org.au before booking to discuss availability.
