Traineeship Positions: Edible Landscapes Nursery

Northey Street City Farm has been granted two Skilling Queenslanders for Work Traineeship positions, funded by the State Government  under Queensland’s Green Army and the First Start program. The target group for this program is long-term unemployed people. Applications close 7th of June.

Traineeship Details

Position title: Nurseryhand Traineeship in Certificate 2 in Horticulture

Location: Edible Landscapes Nursery
Based at
Northey Street City Farm, Windsor, Brisbane.

Conditions: Five days (38 hours) for 12 months

Wages: $ 410 p/w before tax

Position open to: Long-term unemployed

Position starts: 15 th June 2010

Edible Landscapes Nursery is a community managed, permaculture and organic nursery.  We grow and sell a wide range of edible plants and seeds and stock a selection of organic gardening materials, including mulch, composts, manures, worms and fertilisers.

The trainee will be working directly with the nursery manager, assisting in propagation, retailing, marketing, compost production, seed collecting and sorting and stock management.

The trainee will be based in the nursery 5 days per week and will attend Grovely  Horticulture TAFE  to study Certificate 2 in Horticulture.
