Social Enterprises: Now Accepting Expressions of Interest

Northey Street City Farm has a unique opportunity, through Brisbane City Council Funding, to trial a support program for new and emerging Social Enterprises through our Sunday Markets and wider opportunities.  Expressions of interest are due on Monday 7 June.

Invitation to Participate

Village Life seeks to support the growth of Brisbane’s Social Economy by working closely with up to twelve existing or new social enterprises to increase their capacity, build and strengthen networks and provide a forum for social enterprises to build their client base through the vibrant cultural event that is the Sunday Organic Markets.

The program will also include one-on-one mentoring to ensure you gain the skills, resources and contacts most relevant to you.

Social enterprises are an intrinsic part of a healthy and sustainable local economy and are by definition profit-making ventures that are designed to benefit the local community both through their activities and the investment of their profits.

The kinds of enterprises that might benefit from this program include:

  • Massage or healing therapies
  • Cottage industries producing such things as clothing, soap, candles or jam
  • Educational or design consultancies
  • Visual and performing art initiatives

How to Apply

If you’re currently working on a social enterprise, or have a great idea for one that might benefit from this program, please complete the expression of interest form and return by fax to 3857 8108 before 5pm on Monday 7 June. Alternatively you can post or drop your EOI interest into the Northey Street Office at 16 Victoria Street Windsor QLD 4030 or email it to info@nscf.org.au.

Please feel welcome to call the Project Coordinator Faith Thomas on 0439 724 945 if you have questions or would like to chat about how this project might support you.
