A great day was had yesterday with our discussions of the People’s Food Plan, followed by talks, stalls and music from Oxfam about their GROW campaign.
Senator Larissa Waters spoke to us about the stance The Greens are taking on coal seam gas and coal developments affecting food producing areas and planted a dwarf apple tree with her helpful daughter.
We had lively discussions on what is appropriate for Australia’s food future with contributions from farmers, students, market goers and professionals.
If you missed out on hearing about the People’s Food Plan there are still a few more forums planned for Brisbane:
Tuesday 16th at the Croquet Club in Musgrave Park, 91 Cordelia St, West End 6:30 – 8:30pm
Sunday 21st at City Food Growers, 203 Wights Mtn Rd, Samford 2 – 4pm
Also check out the Australian Food Sovereignty Alliance for further updates.
