Flood Update
Posted by NSCF on 14 Jan, 2011.
Northey Street has been damaged by the floods, but they have peaked less than expected, about waist-deep. While the damage is significant, it is less than anticipated, with our office remaining dry. There will, however, be a massive cleanup ahead to restore the nursery, kitchen and gardens. We will advise when it’s safe for those able to help out.
The chickens are doing okay.

is there a market this Sunday?
Hi Deb – I’m happy to report the markets will be happening this Sunday. As the other major markets are closed, the local growers are very keen for a chance to sell their stock. We’ll be working hard on Saturday to make sure they get their chance.
Good to hear the chickens made it. Sad to hear that all the planting we did in the nursery may be gone. I’m ready and willing to help with the clean up when the time comes.
I am glad to hear this news. We had a enjoyable and informative tour to your farm before Christmas, and floods and flood levels were discussed with us. I wish you all the best with the clean up.
yay! was worried about the chickens–glad they are okay
I have an empty coop at my place and could give a handful of them a temporary home if needed.
Hi Everyone,
I plan on coming in tomorrow to help out. What would you like me to bring to help?
