What is permaculture?
Permaculture is a design system for creating sustainable human environments. It
aims to bring food production back to where people live and to develop new,
sustainable ways of living in our cities and rural areas.
Northey Street City Farm provides its "living classroom" and experienced
permaculturists to help people become confident and competent local food producers and
earth healers.
Permaculture Design Certificate
(PDC)
The Permaculture Design Certificate gives a good overview of permaculture
principles and practice, with an emphasis on design. At Northey Street, we include
significant hands-on practical experience as well.
To qualify for a PDC, students need to attend all workshops including four
permaculture design workshops, and complete a design project.
Course Dates:
Choose from the following 2010 courses:
Thursdays from 25 February to 3 June, Saturdays 22 May to 28 August, or Fridays
from 3 September to

practical training will lead to a nationally-accredited Level 3
Certificate in Permaculture.
The Thursday program includes the Permaculture Design Certificate
(PDC). PDC graduates within the past five years will be exempt from the Thursday
sessions, but not the Wednesday and Friday
sessions, from 25 February to 3 June inclusive, providing suitable evidence of PDC training
is available.
