Bunya Halasz completed his Permaculture Certificate in 1999 and a Bachelor of Environmental Science in 2004. Bunya’s practical knowledge stems from 15 years of investigation into a range of organic farming and permaculture practices used in Australia and New Zealand. For the past five years Bunya has continued to share his specialized experience through environmental education at Northey Street City Farm, providing tuition for a variety of workshops, school activities and permaculture design courses.
Through the evolving enterprise Growing Roots he explores nature education in many forms from gardening workshops to Permaculture camps that integrate yoga, chi gung, shiatsu massage and earth arts. With a focus on creativity, Bunya’s concept of permaculture encompasses landscape design, bush tukka, body movement, oriental medicine and food preparation.

Seasonal selection, crop rotation, companion planting and other ways to get the best out of your edible garden. Full-day fee if booked together with Vegetable and Herb Gardening for Pots, Containers and Balconies on the same day.

Vegetable and Herb Gardening for Pots, Containers and Balconies
Learn how to make the most of limited urban spaces by creating and maintaining healthy, productive gardens in pots and containers. Make the most of your space with trellising and vertical stacking and find out the ins and outs of potting mixtures, soil feeding and more to help you to grow fresh seasonal food in your home space. Full day rate if participating in Seasonal Vegetable Gardening for the Subtropics in the morning. Please bring along a drawing and full measurements of your space to garden including direction of north.
